As kids, we all thought that life was all rainbows and unicorns. It is because our parents used to tell us these fairy-tale stories and how they all had their own happy endings. They never let us know the gory details of reality. We were protected and surrounded with so much love and care that we thought that life is simple—that it’s easy. Hell, at some point during our childhood, we all wanted to be adults, not knowing what awaited us.
But the truth is, life is not about rainbows and unicorns. Some people, like Harmony (the heroine in Not A Fairy Tale), knew about that sad truth at an early age. And then there are some, like Ashton (the hero), who only realized how shitty life can be at the latter part of their life. Nonetheless, we’ve all been there. We all realized that life is not a fairy tale, and will never be a fairy tale.
Fairy tales are just factions of our imaginations. The real deal? Life is like a roller coaster, sure it has highs, but it sure as hell has its lows, too. And that’s all right, because that’s how you’d appreciate the highs, through the lows.
